How to determine axle ratio?
I did some searching, but did not find what I was looking for.
I recently purchased a used 2018 F150 XLT 4x4 with 10-speed 5.0L V-8. It does not have a tow pkg as best as I can tell.
I would like to know what its axle ratio is. I downloaded the original window sticker from Ford and it shows the stand axle ratio of 3.31. However, it lists that under options, which makes me wonder if it was a typo. (Standard equipment wouldn't be an option.) On the certified pre-owned dealer sticker it shows and axle ratio of 3.73 under optional equipment.
Is there part of the VIN or door frame sticker that identifies the installed axle ration?
Appreciate any insight.
Thanks.

The sticker in your door tells you the axle code which will get you ratio. Read the bottom of the page.

depends on state laws. I'd have to assume that if their 'certified pre owned' window sticker had the correct VIN# on it and mislabeled equipment, that's considered misrepresentation. IF it mislabeled things like vehicle color, obvious differences, it could be one thing. But specifics like axle ratio and other more subtle technical details (that ultimately make a difference), it can certainly be argued as a misrepresentation of the product by those who should be the most knowledgeable in it and have the most information available to determine accuracy and verify.
TBH, I'm not overly concerned about it. I like the truck and will never off road it (maybe sand roads in the pine barrens) to the extent I would notice a difference. Also, The certified pre-owned sticker had a disclaimer on it. I will look into though. My step son is an attorney. He can advise me on this, I'm sure.
To be clear, if I had specifically bought this truck for the 3.73 ratio, that is a whole different story.
We looked at so many trucks that that day I couldn't keep things straight. It wasn't until I got it home and had driven it a few miles I realized it had the 10-speed trans. Sticker said 6-speed, but there was another sticker on the passenger side (that I didn't get) that said it was the 10-speed.
Thanks for all the info.
