Default (HID) D3S compatible with what bulb?

First I will say, yes I've searched 4 forums, and been googling everything for a week.. I got new fogs on the way already but I wanted to step up my factory HID's to some 55w 5k bulbs, D3S have that built on ballast just like the D1S but draws a different current... D2S will fit but will have mounting issues from what I've read... I just wanted to get a pulse check from the community before making a $100+ purchase i would find out later wouldn't work.

Question - 2014 f150 fx4 factory HID unit. Factory bulb is a D3S, (odd I haven't actually gone and pulled my light out to verify, dang hard to get to). What bulb(s) will work in my set up? Any of the "S" series bulbs? Or some other size im unaware of. Any advice is appreciated.

GO HAWKS!

You have to stay with D3S bulbs unless you swap things out like ballasts and mounting.

Look at The retro fit source online and they should have what you need parts and info wise.

Yeah I was just going to go from the stock harness to an inline ballast, like almost every aftermarket kit. So in speaking of new ballasts and mounting, what would fit... do all the "S" bulb notches fit the same (not accounting for current or bulb mounted ballasts)

There HAS to be a way to mount something other than a D3S in there though... TRFS has some stuff but not the kit i'm wanting (mostly because theirs is double+ the price, i've had their kits before, good stuff but not looking to spend that much just yet)

Hey where did you get your D3s HID bulbs? I want to buy them for my F-150 2015. I have searched a lot and found an online store at very reasonable price with one year of warranty. Please have a look on this product and suggest me what to do?
