Default Hiccup in Engine?

I bought my F150 used. It's a 98 5.4L. It runs good but every now and then it has like a hiccup. The engine wants to stall in the middle of driving and then it kicks back in. I don't know what could be causing this. It has no problem starting so I don't believe it's the fuel pump or filter. I think it might be something electrical. It might only do it once every two months. I don't know what else to look for. Any Ideas or similar problems?

is your service engine light on? I bought my truck back in march, and after having it for about 4 days, mine did the same thing, and then i noticed that my check engine light was on. I took it in, and the told me one of the ?coils? burnt out. so they replaced it, and its perfect now.

When i would be driving it before i got it fixed, it was almost the same thing. if i accelereated, it would try to but wasnt successful...like you said, it was a hiccup type sound, and it sounded like it was going to stall mid-drive. If you bought a waranty on the truck take it in, and get it fixed. If you dont have a warranty, itll cost you a couple hundred bucks, if its the coil.
