Hi, I have a question.

Hi, I have a question.
So I have a 2017 2.7 Ecoboost. I'm sure as everyone is aware, turbo's sound great but tiny six's don't. Though when I get on her she'll growl some. I just want her to growl a little more. So I'm deleting the resonator. From what I've gathered.
The whole exhaust is aluminized stainless? What grade though?
I called ford and asked and they said "we'll call you back" click....
I don't want to use the off the shelf kits because there all mild steel (dissimilar metal electrolysis) and they lack the flex tubing. And, Let's be real it's a 50$ lower intermediate pipe there trying to sell for 120$+. For that cost I could just buy the parts I want and build something way better. I'v all ready selected my materials, one piece of 3" stainless pipe, one 8" stainless heavy duty lined flex pipe and one stainless 3" to 2 1/2" reducer.
How ever I can't find the flange I need to fit the Y pipe. Do I need a spherical "donut" or is it a ball socket? Can a exhaust shop flare the raw pipe for me? This is the only thing I'm hung up on.
Thanks...

This isn't what you want to hear and it may not even be agreeable to many. You have two options with this engine...quiet....or sound like ****. Personally I'd rather mine be quiet than spend money to sound like crap. It's opinion...maybe I just have not heard a good exhaust for our 2.7 yet. I get that fun factor out of my Procharged no cat resonated X, flow through muffler Mustang though.
*EDIT* Crap is a bad word? lol

I present this good sir, for your audio pleasure.
Is it a V8 rumble? No. Is it load? Not really. Does it sound better then road noise? Yes, yes it does. Besides I'm pathologically hard wired to tinker with things, and there's a lot of fun to be had for a couple hundred bucks. Mesuring, cutting, welding and beers.
So what type of flange does it use?

I agree. I have never heard any V-6 sound good loud, no matter what size the engine was.

Formula 1 cars sound great and they use IIRC 1L V-6's. Besides, not trying to be a dick, I was asking if any one knew about the flange. Not what everyone else's opinions are. I'm not afraid to let people know that I picked the 6 over the 8. Especially when I blow the doors off the "In my day"/"my daddy said" V8 owners.
My opinion by the way, since we were all sharing and stuff.
Any one know what type of flange it is?

Thank you.
It'sa little ricey on the high end, but I don't care because turbo whistle. I might even try welding on a 4x12 tip, like a Bellow and see how it affects the sound. Or dump the pipe just after the axle for off roading. I'll figure that bit out later.
Hey, by any chance. Any one know what type of flange it is?

It's a ball flange. The system is already stainless, 400 something, I want to say 402. Not as good as 304, but they do last quite a long time.

Why thank you. Actually I looked at it this afternoon. I intended to keep dragging this out until I got a fact rather then an opinion. It appears to be a welded female end that I'm after.
