Hi y'all, recently purchased a 2016 F150, still running version 1.0 of my sync3 unit. Read that the unit will not process updating straight to 3.4 and must update to 2.2/2.3 first. However, I cannot find the download files for Sync3 Version 2.2 or 2.3 anywhere. Could anyone be so gracious to link me to those or email me said files. Thanks. (for reference, I tried the USB update already, radio would not process it and got stuck on "update" screen for 3 hours.

 

Nav or Non-Nav? You aren't going to be able to go to Sync 3.4 natively with Ford approved update methods. You'll be capped at a 3.0.x release if you are able to resolve the issue. If you want to go to 3.4, you can search the forum for that tutorial and you won't need to mess with a step upgrade.

 

Non Nav I'm pretty sure, I'm new to fords, it's a 2016 F150 XLT Texas Edition. I don't really care about all the extra Sync stuff I just want CarPlay as that does everything I need. I already have the updated USB hub on order, just need the radio to support it.

 

If it's Non Nav you won't have a map on the Sync display, it'll just be a compass. I PM'd you some 2.2/2.3 install links to try. Let me know how it goes.
