Default Help on Some options for new purchase

They have a 5.0 with the 3.55 gears 4x4 XLT

or

a 3.5EB with the 3.55 gears 4x4 XLT

About the same price.

I tow a boat 2x month in summer about 2 hours each way.

and use it for prop management 5 houses

Same model year?

Typically the sticker price on an EB is a few grand more than the 5.0.

Sounds like another 3.5EB vs 5.0 debate....

Yeah the 3.5 EB should have a higher sticker price... with good reason.

My towing is also infrequent and mostly short distances, but went with the 3.5 Eco max towing because we keep our vehicles for a long time and what the flexibility of what we can tow.

You keep your truck for a long time? That's exactly the reason you should have gone with the 5.0. But what's done is done now I guess. Make sure you register it with Ford so they can send you all the recall information on the EcoBoost trucks. There was just a new recall this week on failed master cylinders. Good luck.

I've had both engines and they're both about the same for fuel mileage. The 3.5 Ecoboost has way better acceleration from 0-50 mph as opposed to the 5.0 which didn't wake up until 40 mph. From a dead stop towing the Eco wins. As an option on my truck the Ecoboost engine was a little over a grand over the 5.0 so price can be a consideration even on a 40 to 50K and up truck. In my opinion the Eco is worth it for towing or just plain having fun kicking in the turbo's once in a while!

And don't pay any attention to all the posts about the 5.0 with knocking engines and their engines having to be replaced. LOL

Glass houses and throwing stones mean anything to you!!!!!!

X2
I'd rather have a master cylinder replaced than a knocking engine.
