hi group,wow am i in trouble!ok here is the problem,i have a 92 150 with a bad door,the cable to open from the inside was broken and gone so i jerry rigged a cable going from the open mechanism to inside handle,it opened fine like twice,it opened from the outside any and now it will not open at alli took the panel off from the inside and tried to manouver the mechanism to no avail....damn!!!made sure the lock was in the open position etc...i can get a door but getting this open seems very hard to do,i can only figure cutting the metal or somethingany idea's anyone?atleast its the passenger door

LOTS of 92 to 96 body styles around. Get somebody to let you take their door pannel off or look at one in a junk yard and see if there's a tight space or snag. Once you see it on a good one strung properly there should be several around here and there in junk yards. If all you need is a proper cable, that being on the inside of the door it might not even be rusty. Might get an entire internal door assembly for a few bucks.

 

hi 56 daddy,thanx for your reply.well what i had to do is locate a door off of craigs list,i actually got lucky and found a 92 with the exact same trim so i put it on and all is good.the window motor was bad anyway and the proper cable was gone so i just got another door.a friend of mine had to break the door panel to open the old door(he took a plate off inside the door)the new door was only 50 so not bad,all i have to do now is paint speaker works and come with a mirror so i am blessed.thanks for your time and knowledge.
