Default Help with headlight brightness

...
So, I'm having a hard time seeing at night. My truck has a blackout kit on it that includes tinted headlight covers. They look great and I don't want to remove them. I have factory bulbs installed and the lens cover dims the light. So my question is:
Can I go with a brighter output bulb?
And how much is too much when it comes to brightness? I see 3000k , 5000k ,10000k, etc. available. The higher the brighter? Which would give maximum brightness without blinding traffic?
Thank you,
Mark2013 Ford F150 XLT3.7L V6Silver w/blackout kit

My truck is blacked out from Ford and has HID's and the Factory Hid is the brightest I would go to not blind traffic. The numbers you are putting up there are Temperature numbers. A 3000K is a Yellowish light while around 6000K is white, after that the color gets bluer and since white light is being removed it is actually degrading your vision.
The only thing I can tell you is your black out kit is hurting your night vision, so you have 2 choices, remove it or quit driving at night since any legal bulb will not help your night vision. By legal bulb it must be DOT approved to run in a Halogen light.

The lens cover is your problem...you want brighter lights? Get rid of the covers. Those numbers you mention are related to the 'color' of the bulb light output, not intensity. There is nothing significant you can do as long as you insist on keeping those smoked covers.

Get rid of the lens cover as others have said. Or get the black housing / clear lens hid headlights like Siber has.

Or, don’t drive at night.

Putting black covers over your headlights is kind of ridiculous. Looks shouldn’t outweigh function, especially when it comes to safety.

Might just be a crappy blackout kit. Can of black spray paint? What's the brand? Post a picture.
