Default Help!

Hello everyone, so I have a 2002 F150 & my original wheels are 265/75/16r & I accidently bought a wrong wheels that are 265/70/17r they don't fit obviously. So I bought adopters online . 5x135 to 5x5.5 Ford F150 97-03 would this work? Or do I need to buy new wheels? Thanks in advance.
