Default Help!!

Can someone tell me if $19,999 is an ok price for a 2008 F150 FX2 sport with 61,000 miles. Since im a woman and will be purchasing at a dealer I don't want to get screwed (again!!). It has a 5.4L engine and leather interior. Interior looks nice but we all know you cant go by that.

Almost 20k for a 2wd that's 7 years old sounds kind of expensive to me. However, the mileage is pretty low. If you haven't already, I would definitely get a carfax on it. You want to look for number of owners and any accidents. Make sure that is the true mileage. Take it to a mechanic that you trust and have them look it over.
If you're going to finance, you have to consider the interest rate on a used vehicle versus a new vehicle loan. You may come out cheaper to downgrade to a new less fancy truck.
Hope this helps

I don't know any of the specifics of the truck you're looking into. But KBB says a Lariat with those miles is worth 15K through private sell. So add a couple thousand for the dealer and I'd say 17K.

You have to figure they've priced the truck with room to negotiate.

I have a 2010 "XL" 4X4 with no fancy stuff on it. It only has 16k and its trade-in worth is only $15k. Sticker was $31k. So I would guess you're about to pay too much.

Check the Kelly Book.. Very helpful.

Start with

www.kbb.com
www.nada.com
www.carfax.com

Finish up with
www.truecar.com

That should cover everything you need to know when buying used.
