Help on 1981 Ford
Hi, I have a 1981 Ford F250 Custom with a 6 Cylinder and I've had some problems. The truck fires every time with no problem. The problem is, when you get it going down the road, it will suddenly quit, as if you turned the key off. I'm guessing there is wiring or something getting hot because you can let it sit for a few mintues and it will fire up again. I'm not sure if it is the brain box or the coil...or something else. Usually, if the brain box is bad, it gets hot. But I've checked the brain box when it dies and it isn't hot, but I don't know if that means something or not. Any ideas? Thanks.
It's some part of the ignition getting too hot. Most likely the coil or the ignition control module. Parts for that truck cost next to nothing. Sometimes parts feel like they aren't hot, because it is only one tiny circuit in it that is corroded and getting overloaded.

I put a new ignition module in it. Fires every time now! Just needs spark plugs now. I have spark plugs but he package broke and all of the plugs were scattered throughout the truck. When I found them all again, the ends were bent. Anyone know what they're supposed to be gapped at?
