Default Heater help

Okay the issue that is going on is this all settings work no leaks or smells blows cool air and then heat works after about 45 mins after driving. Temp gauge in middle normal am guessing. Then seems to get cool again temp gauge moves a little does not over heat. Changed thermostat did not help hoses into firewall hot to touch. The only thing i can find is the temp control **** is the only thing that is messed up very loose feeling not like the **** is working then grabs hold to work could this be the root to the issue? not moving the door actuator for heat? I do not hear door moving to close or open.

Anyone come across this before? Any help would be great thanks

Never heard of this one before, sorry.

See if you can pull the heat selector **** off. Typically on the other side there is a plastic tube which is keyed to fit over a metal stud. If that plastic tube is stripped, it might not be rotating the metal stud far enough to the right. If you can access the stud, try moving it with a pair of needle nose pliers a 1/4 turn to the right. I'd be willing to guess it's stuck somewhere right in the middle, hence why it takes a long time to blow any warm air.

Good luck!

My guess, the heat no heat that you mention, you got heat when you turned a hard right, then no heat after a hard left turn, prognosis, blend door flappin in the breeze.

You can start with this, its a real good guide for removing the dash to get at the blend door. This is a very common issue with these trucks, as your heater hoses are hot both in and outbound its a pretty good bet that the shaft of the blend door is broken off. When I say flapping in the wind, when you turn a corner is shifts to one side or the other as it swings on a vertical axis.
