heat trouble fixed
I just ripped out the two way duct just above the floor and took the two screws out that hold on the panel/floor actuator and it fell out. I got a mirror and could plainly see the hole in the door above and was lucky enough to get the rod back into the hole, now I have warm air blowing out the floor good. I can reach up in the ductwork before and after and the door would not move before and it does now. hope if someone else needs this info they can find it.
Took my 2003 F150 FX4 Lariat to the shop today to have the EATC diagnosed. The cost...$84 bucks. I was told I had two problems and the fix costs over $1000 bucks! A bit tough to swing just before Christmas!
My service ticket reads as follows:
EATC DIAG, NO DTCS. CHECKED VACUUM ACTUATORS AND FOUND PANEL/FLOOR ACTUATOR INOP (INOPERABLE), ALSO FOUND NO VACUUM TO ACTUATOR FROM EATC CONTROL.
After reading several posts I have decided to replace the four "o" rings in the unit itself. Not sure if that will totally fix the problem. May have to fix or replace the panel/floor actuator also.
Has any had to replace or fix this actuator? Where is it located and how hard is it to remove?
Any help with this would be much appreciated as with the cold temps, me and my daughters toes stay cold!
Thanks,

If you are talking about the panel/floor actuatorit was not too bad once I gave up on one screw and got my dremel out and got rid of that problem. There are two screws holding the actuator up into the ductwork right by accelerator pedal . Mine was easy because the rod coming out of tha actuator had come loose or never was hooked up.
Holy crap!!!! Just finished replacing the four "o" rings in the EATC unit and reinstalling the unit back into my truck and JACKPOT! EVERYTHING WORKS!!!!
FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES FOR WANTING TO CHARGE ME AND OTHERS OVER $1000.00 TO FIX THE PROBLEM I WAS HAVING!!!
THIS FIX COST ME $1.27 AND A BIT OF MY TIME.
I do understand others have had other issues such as broke or cracked vacuum lines or blender door issues. However, I have read several posts with the same problem and fix I just completed.
A huge thanks to this forum and those who have posted info and pics for this fix! I'm just floored! $1.27 versus $1000.00+!
Our toes will be toastie tomorrow morning while it's 14 degrees outside!
THANKS,
Trace
