Default headlight wattage

anyone know the what the maximun allowed headlight wattage/brightness is for michigan for normal driving lights?

All headlights out of the factory are 55 watts each.
I believe that is the max by law BUT it seems as long as
you know how to adjust add on lighting and/or replace
the factory's headlamps with larger wattage bulbs,
the law doesn't bother you.

This is why when you turn your brights on and have
your so called "fog" lights also on, the fog lights will
shut off. State laws only allows 55 watts max from
no more than two front lamps in high beam but it's
ok to have 55 watt x2 low beam and fogs on at
the same time.

I think it's a stupid law. They still living in the
stone age..

thanks for the info!

thats stupid, i was jw...i just put some lights on my bullbar they're a 55watt bulb...just like my headlights and foglights..i have alot more people flashing their lights at me than usual...just making sure they're not too bright, and that i was reading the wattage right...i knew i wasnt that dumb.. i have them angled down pretty low too.
