A water sprinkler sprayed my '06 150 while I was at work and the hot sun baked water spots onto the glass and paint that won't come on by hand (at least not very easily). How do you deal with getting these off? I understand that they can permanently etch the glass if left on.

Also, what sort of wax or protectant do you then put on to keep this from happening again?

Vinegar. Soak a sponge and rub the area. Then wash as usual. Using Rain X will make future problems much easier to clean.
