Default Hard downshift from 5 mph to stop

Friends, I am at a loss on this one. My truck drives great but when I come to a stop, I get a hard down shift right before coming to a full stop. I can creep into a round a bout with no issues or almost come to a stop, say under 10 mph, and all is fine. It is just when I come to a full stop. The first lead down this rabbit hole was to get the silicone grease for the slip yoke, so I did. However my axle is a one piece and doesn't have the mid-axle slip yoke that binds up when it gets dry. I greased it anyway. No change. I used forscan to do a reset on the transmission so it would repopulate the data tables and drove like a grandpa for a day or so and that seemed to help but i would ease into a stop for 100 yards. As soon as I needed to stop normally it was back to business, kicking hard right before coming to a stop. I noticed it was really moist around the transmission bulkhead connector, which I understand if atf gets in the electronic part of the connector it could short out a signal and confuse the PCM causing the hard downshift. I got a new OEM one and dropped the pan again. I say again because I have already changed the transmission fluid twice since November last year. I added a tube of Shudder Fix the last time because it felt like it was starting slip a little on acceleration. (It does not feel like that anymore) While the pan was off most recently I pulled down the release tab to get the bulkhead connector to come out but it didn't want to go back up when I was putting the new one on. While researching I noticed it was pretty easy to take the valve body off so I did to get a better look at the lead frame that is connected to the top of the valve body and where the wiring harness connects into. I figured out you just have to push really hard on the bulkhead connector to get the retaining clip to slide over a little stopper. While I had it out I noticed that the part of the lead frame would wiggle some. I put it all back together and at first it wouldn't start because it said it could not communicate with the transmission to verify it was in park or neutral. I sprayed both the pins and wiring harness connector with electronic cleaner and blew them out with my air hose the first time putting it back together. I disconnected it again, sprayed it out again, and added some dialectic grease and reattached it and my truck was able to start and drive fine, exept the harsh downshift before a stop is still as present as ever. What am I missing?
