The brake lines may look OK from the outside - they will normally burst from the inside damage that cannot be seen.
Mine on my old 2000 F150 burst in my driveway. Guess what? No more brakes, no warning.. Could have been a disaster if driving in traffic.

As many others have said it is fixable, but you need to be looking at fuel and brake lines and making sure it is mechanically sound because there is absolutely no point fixing the outside when it is gonna have a line rust through or something that would render it useless until fixed.
