This might or might not be the right spot to post this but what the heck.

When you click on someones username it brings up a page and on that page it says "Group Memberships" and then below that it says "92custom(for example) is not a member of any public groups."

What exactly are these Group Memberships?

This isn't a feature we use. The software allows you to have different levels of membership with different features given to each level. For example on ContractorTalk.com we have had a lot of problems with spammers using our PM system so we require you to have 20 posts before you can use it. This is done by setting up different usergroups and creating a promotion when people reach a certain post point. You can also make people pay for more storage and that is done by usergroup.

Anyways.... we just give everything away up front so no need for those groups.

yep, on other fourms I belong to, only tec posts count tords your post count, and you have to pay to be able to have a avatar, and you also have to be a member for 30 days and have 30 posts to be able to use the forsale section.

 

Wow, ive seen where you need a certain amount of post to pm someone but nothing like ^
