Default Grille Lights

I am thinking about putting some lights in my grille. I have a 2004 XLT. I have a few questions for those who have done it.

First, how did you mount the lights in the grille?
Where is a good place to mount the switch in the cab?
Because I have rectangular fog lights, would rectangular lights in the gille look better than round ones?
What is a good set of lights?

First off...are you mounting fog lamps or driving lamps? They've got different beam patterns and are designed to be mounted differently. A fog lamp should be mounted low on the vehicle, while a driving light should be mounted about the same height as the headlights.

I just finished mounting a set of Piaa 540's behind the grill of my 2007 F-150 today (still have to do a final aim on them). I made my own light mount using a little bit of 1/8" plate, some 3/4" square tubing, plasma cutter, and a welder. I used all stock fasteners and did not have to drill any holes on the truck at all. They are activated with the high beams through the relay that came with them. I'm not a big fan of a bunch of extra switches in the cab unless they're really needed. Here are some pics....

I also have a set of Piaas but I mounted them on a grill guard, not inside the grill. they came with a switch that has double sided tape so you can mount it wherever you want, I chose the right side of the steering wheel kinda low on the panel and stuck it there.

I am thinking of driving lights but I want to cut out a hole in the grille and actually mount them to the grille.

I have seen the Hella kit but I don't want to drop the $400 for it.
