Hey guys, new to the forum but figured if I need help, this is the place to go.

Got a 2011 F150 FX4 Gray. About a month or so ago my daughter (4 weeks after getting her licenses) backed her jeep into the front of my truck. Needless to say she cracked the grill. No other damage just the grill.

It's a 6 bar grill and the bars are painted gray. For the life of me I can not find the 6 bar grill pre-painted in gray. So I figured I'd look at the 2 or 3 bar grills, I find them in black which is ok, but looks like the outline (yellow arrows) is also black. Can I simply removed the inside part (Outlined in Red), and replace it with a 2 bar or 3 bar black? A dealer wants close to $1,000 for a 6 bar in Gray...no thanks!!!

The picture is not my truck but all 6 bars are cracked but the Ford emblem is fine, it basically cracked right around that.

Any suggestions would be greatly appericated.

 

You can swap inserts. But some years are not compatible. Like I tried to swap the 3 bar insert of my 2010, with the 2013 3 bar lariat grille, and it didn't fit. Someone on here will know more than me, on which ones work with others

 

If you use a 2013-14 grill you will also need to use the 2013-14 grill surround as well because the 13-14 grills won't fit in your surround.
The 2014 STX Sport grill (pictured below) is the only exception. This will fit your 2011-12 grill surround.
