Default This greasy mess

This is why we do our own maintenance. Truck is new under warranty so had to take it in to dealer. Was there three painful hours watching everyone else come and go and I am sitting outside with my coffee watching and waiting. Weather is 72 deg so can't complain about that.

Both front doors creaked when opened or closed. I sprayed lithium in there but could not stop it. The white plastic roller in there was not spinning. They actually gave this back to me and didn't see anything wrong.

That’s what I was trying to figure out, too. It’s not clear to me what the complaint is about.

I sprayed the lithium inside where the roller is located causing the noise. I did not leave any mess when taking it in. They replaced that mechanism on both front doors. Passenger door was cleam, they left that mess on the driver door. I have since cleaned it up.

How come Steve83 knew what I was talking about?

I would be a little P.O.'d too if they gave it back to me with all of that grease in the door jamb. In your OP, you did not mention that it was the dealer that sprayed additional grease and got it all over the place. I think that's where the confusion is.

That’s it. OP never mentioned that lithium grease was from the dealership. He only said that he sprayed lithium grease. While I considered that the dealer used lithium grease, I disregarded that idea because it didn’t make sense for the dealer to just add more lithium grease on top of the grease the OP sprayed.

If they cleaned up one side, but not the other....that tells me it was just human error and the tech guy was rushed or forgot.

Fortunately, lithium grease wipes off pretty fast. It’s not something that would have me PO’d. Steve didn’t say anything indicating his understanding of your post, he just said to contact Ford. Frankly, saying to contact Ford National because the dealer left some grease behind leaves me thinking he didn’t understand....that’s pretty extreme for a little mess that can be removed by a paper towel.

Either way, I’m glad they fixed your truck quickly. The closest dealer to my house would have wanted the truck to be left with them for 1 or 2 days (which is why I don’t use them).

Yes, I assumed he was talking about the mess the dealership left after they worked on it for "3 painful hours". I further assumed he had complained about the mess after they gave it back, and they said it looked OK. That's why I suggested calling national CS.

I would be glad the dealer actually used grease after installing the parts. BTW the front doors on my truck creaked and clunked when new and I didn't bother doing anything about it. Stopped paying attention to it but eventually realized they stopped making noise and are silent. Like most mechanical bits when they are new and tight they may make some odd noises but as they wear in everything loosens up and works better.
