Governor
I just bought a 2011 FX4 and it tops out at 152km/h. Is this just a safety for new trucks or is this the governor limit. Although this is plenty fast enough there are times when a little more speed is needed. What options do I have that do not void my warranty?
why would you need more than that? trucks (stock) are not meant for speed. if you want to go faster get a car (they have limiters to, usually the 125mph/200km/h range), or a bike.
a tuner will take it off. and unless your at the drag strip and you can top your gov in a 1/4mile theres no need to.
either way now i know i can outrun the 2011s lol. my 05 is limited at 105

you can go with a tuner but before you do that I would suggest looking at what your tires are rated for. If you're running at max speed for your tires and want to bump up your governor that would be a bad choice
FYI This isn't meant as a lecture it's more of an informational bulletin for you. I get that people have a need for speed, just do it under the right circumstances and be safe about it. No need for any accidents.
and most importantly HAVE FUN!
thanks for the backup

Let me take you back to the reason I came to this question-> where I live there are 100 series highways that are not divided. They have passing lanes, but some of them are not as long as they need to be. That being said, I start down the ramp onto the highway and pull in behind this jalopy. This person is weaving, slowing down and speeding up whenever I attempt to pass. Being patient I wait for a passing lane, once again this fool accelerates from 80 to well over 120km/h. At this point I wait till the passing lane almost ends and tramp it, blowing this guys doors off(or so I thought) the limiter kicks in and I just barely get by this moron. Thus creating one of those times when 152 just isn't fast enough! And let's be serious, 152 km/h is not remotely fast enough to start worrying about tires flying apart. PS I work for Michelin
