Default got a question.

Ok I just recently bought a 2005 f150 lariat supercrew. I'm a Ford fanatic and will not own anything but a Ford. This is my first new one and I'm not familiar with the 5.4 liter triton v8. Can anyone tell me anything about it, is it a good strong motor? Thanks

Research research research before you try to change spark plugs. Otherwise pretty fair engine Bubbabud 2011F150XLT SC Ecoboost

Anybody had the very bottom of their spark plugs break off? I recently had this problem replaced the plug it ran like new for almost an hour and it broke tue new plug. I called the dealership after my Mechanic who has been workin on cars for 20+ yrs said that I most likely need to get new motor but the dumbass ford mechanic says that it's just a carbon build up on the spark plug. Anyone every had this problem and if so what did you have to do to fix it?

^ Lisle 65600 and broken spark plug 5.4L 3V. Do a search on both of those and you'll find it's common and no you don't need a new motor. PS the "dumb" Ford mechanic is correct, carbon builds on the end and makes them stick.

OP: search around for cam phasers, broken spark plug, and since it's an 05 injector sticking. These motors will either be great and give only minor problems, or have a host of issues. Just the luck of the draw.

But that still don't explain why my new plug did the something in less than a hour and why both of place where the firing pin use to be look like they have been filed down to an angle. So yet again the ford mechanic is still dumb...Js
