Default Got pulled over last night...

So I was driving home from a friends house and just as I turned onto Rt. 31 there was a cruiser driving down the other side of the road...

Well I haven't got my mufflers on yet and if I did I probably wouldn't have gotten pulled over but I had to traverse up hill to take the next right turn, "VROOooom crackle crackle" trying to feather the gas with no rear cats and straight pipes...

He pulled a u-turn and here come the blues... I pulled over, rolled both windows down, turned on the done light and put both hands on the wheel, he walked up and made me open my door cuz he couldn't see in my window...

Well my custom suspension is equivalent to an 11" suspension lift plus a 3" body lift on 39" Mickeys, needless to say he want happy about that either...

After telling me the height laws were limited to 2"... Which is wrong

I told him "Per Massachusetts height restrictions the law states that a safety equation that consists of wheel base x wheel track / 2200 comes into play on 4x4's

140x65?(stock track)/2200= 4.3
(This includes suspension and body and you have to be 2" over to be ticketed due to different spring heights from different companies and whatnot)

And you can add tires that are the same amount of total inches (4.3") over the largest tires offered from the factory, (275?) I think which would be a 36" ish
Well after going over that he realized I wasn't drunk like he was implying
Well I'm way over these measurements either way

He wasn't the most pleasant person to talk to but he was extremely nice in letting me drive away with a verbal warning for height and loud exhaust... I will be getting him a Dunks gift card as a thank you for next time I see him...

But I do have a bad feeling I will be harassed by him if I drive through his town again which is about a mile from me... This might be very inconvenient

Hopefully he'll hear I put mufflers on and lay off a bit realizing I am respecting his authority...

I can only hope

I was about to say take it to court! but then i realized you didn't even get a ticket, lucky duck, i run true dual exhaust with just 2 cats, no mufflers and haven't had any problems with the law.

A7X, believe me, being nice to the Police Officer will get you further than anything. He may not have liked the fact you knew the law, and I know plenty of officers who don't, but explaining and not arguing is the right tact. And, if he is like I was he won't have time to harrass you 'cause he's to busy with everything else.

BTW, next time have your Sister with you. You know she's much cooler than you.

Lol, yeah she is! haha

Yeah I just kinda explained the law, and I was "yes sir, no sir"

The town is a very small and I heard this cop is trouble after I talked to a few townies... And he probably isn't very busy...

I'm hoping a Dunkin donuts gift card as a "thank you" not a bribe and mufflers installed out of respect for him will keep him from harassing me about the height...

So, where were you, Ashby? Fitchburg? I don't think the New Ipswich cops would care one way or the other if you were in NH.

You wanna see a cop get pissed off? I got followed out of a pub parking lot and the cop pulled me over about 30 yards down the street. He didnt believe anything I had to say. At first I asked what suspicions he had that I had been drinking? He didn't like that. Then I asked him how he was able to determine if I had been drinking with only 30 yards of following me? He REALLY didn't like that.
Then when I couldn't answer how much a beer cost at the pub I had just left, out came the breathalyzer. Then when I blew 0.00 in his stupid little device and demanded an apology he REALLY didn't like that!
It doesn't matter how you talk to these idiots. When you're right and they're wrong there's nothing they can do!
And btw he never did apologize to me. I sarcastically thanked him for his failed service and returned to my vehicle. Then came the waiting game of who would leave the scene first. I won that little game too
Never been pulled over since. And you can pretty much tell when they're running your information while they follow you. So maybe they put a little note on my plates? I'm not sure, but either way, they leave me alone and I'll leave them alone!

I have robberies, shootings and property crimes that occupy most of my shift. When I do get a break, I write my reports and watch traffic to see any cool F150s pass by. This is around 5-6 AM. Just like in any profession, you have those that set a bad example.

Personally I would not buy him a Dunkin Doughnuts gift card as he may see that as the old likening Cops to fat slobby doughnut eaters. Just sayin.

Glad you didn't get a ticket though!
