4.6L's sound better with Magnaflow, Borla, or Flowmaster
Heres my dilema, eveyone and their grandmother have FM's, they sound like raw horsepower. But often drown the cab in exhaust note, leaving you no peace to think at times.
I had a friend who owned a 5.0L F-150 with a MagnaFlow, sounded like a Roush Mustang. Didnt make any performance sound till it was revved hard. I never heard it from the inside of the cab, is it quiet?
Never heard a Borla, but I never heard a Magnaflow before either so now I'm lost.

This is my first F-150 and intend to hang onto it for a while.

If you just run a si/do flowmaster it sounds like pure power but only drowns the cab at around 2000 rpm, sounds great my only problem with it is that i would like it to be louder like tru duals w/ long tubes

I have a 4.6 with a SI/SO flowmaster 44 and have it dumped about a foot after the muffler and it sounds perfect. It has a great deep sound anytime your on the gas but at idle or just cruising it has a nice tone and is not loud.

Flowmaster 40's are loud, but I think you can still get 50 series and I have been told they will be much quieter! Me I love the sound of a V8, I could actually play the tune of my truck while I sleep!!The louder the better!

My magnaflow true duals have kept me happy ever since I first got them, I just want to make the a little louder because I can't hear them over the new radio/speakers while idling anymore...
