Apologies for any appearance of arrogance. I freely provide any and all I can to help people and I sincerely would like to know if I have misinformed anyone. I do make mistakes and would like to learn from them. In hindsight I should have sent a PM to RadioMan so as to not clutter up your thread. Again I apologize for this faux pas.

You sent no miss information and it was appreciated. I pretty much knew what I was looking at and what was going on with the truck but sometimes I need to bump ideas off of other people to reassure myself. The other guy was an *** and being new I just got my first impression of the people in this forum.

For what it's worth Tim, I disagree with your paperless premise. I have a Haynes manual (at least) for every vehicle that I have ever owned. I like to read them like a novel before I ever "need" to read them. Forums are great for support too.

[quote=RadioMan;359053]I can't believe the answers I'm reading. It sure looks
like to me not many have a clue how to tell if they
have a old style fuel pump or electric pump in the
fuel tank..

This is what I was talking about. I thought a forum was a place to help out each othere and to bump ideas off each other. Maybe that was my misconception. I learn from my mistakes and joining here was one of them.

Have you ever just wanted to make sure before you take action? I do my own maintenance because I can and choose too. I just didnt want to drop the tank if I didnt have too. I have parked my mustang so I can start a resto on it and my only other means of transport is my Harley thats why I found this truck. I don't like to make more than 1 trip to the autoparts store if I don't have too. I did my troubleshooting and since I am used to fuel injection I figured I would make sure there was not a fuel pump in the tank. Yesterday I replaced the fuel pump and have driven this truck that hasn't ran in 8 years. I have replaced the clutch slave and master cylinders, coil and a few other things. I don't consider myself an expert or an idiot nor do I enjoy being referred to as one. I hope this was isolated and I may give this another try.

I understand how you may be feeling. First thread and some ąsshat has to spoil your impression of this forum. While I haven't been here that long if you stick around I am pretty sure you won't be disappointed.
