Thank you all the replies and advice. Again this is a much harder decision than I thought it would be. If I buy the Chevy I am basically getting the same truck I have now expect with a 6sp tranny and a few other updates.

If I get the Ford I am getting a all new truck.

Maybe I am being a bit of a drama queen but I will feel a little bit guilty if I don't buy a Chevy from the same dealer and salesman I bought my last 5 trucks from.

I might be over thinking this..been known to do that!

I had 2 Fords before I switched to Chevy in 04. I really liked the 04's interior better than Ford at the time. The Chevy was an awesome riding truck as well. I haven't driven an 11 Chevy but the exterior styling just isn't appealing to me and that's why I ended up with my 11 XLT 4x4 SuperCab. I absolutely love this truck, it's a huge step up from my 04 Chevy.

Go take the chevy on an extended test drive, my buddy was seriously pissed at the lack of quality in the new 11 chevys and said they have drastically went downhill in quality and comfort compared to his 08 chevy. Should make your decision a while lot easier if you take a nice long test drive and notice the same things. You dont often see such things on quick test drives, especially when you are excited about getting a new ride. Ford is simply the better product. I wouldnt buy a crappy product I plan on using a lot just because I like the salesman! Why would you? Think about that.

My dad loves the chevy's cause they sit lower and he is not getting any younger as he says. So it is easier for him to get in and out of it, with his bad knees. But since he has seen mine he loves the interior of the fords and says that he wished the chevy's would come like this.

Tell him he just needs the platinum with the fold down steps, they are much lower and wider than the regular nerf bar steps on the other models, or upgrade to them for about 1100$ aftermarket

I used to own a Chevy 1500... used to... Ever since I bought my first Ford, a 2002 Ford F150 FX4, I have been hooked. I'll never go back to them. Why bet on the horse with a limp leg when I can stick with the champ?

But GM's fly so much better and don't limp away after the landing. I have videos somewhere to prove it, but I have no clue where those tapes are...IMO the Ford's are nicer on road vehicles. Today's trucks are really no longer work based vehicles, they are passenger vehicles built to cruise the highways in comfort. It's all personal preference. Ford recently has done nothing but introduce new engine lines to replace some of the engine problems in the past some have had such as me. The AC Delco electronics GM uses aren't the best and have given me nothing but problems in the past. Chrysler transmissions have given me a lot of problems in the past. Everyone has their downsides, everyone has their upsides.

A friend of mine is so rough on trucks, we say if it is Landon proof then it will last you forever. So far we have only been brave enough to hand him the keys to GM's and Dodges. These are where the flying 08 1500 and 06 Duramax videos come from...

Everyone's saying the chevs got crap quality liars!!!!!!!!! I truly believe the 11 Chevs are better they have addressed on several things that usually go on them, like the Transmission / oil cooler lines leaking, The terrible inner tie rod design..etc However they still use the same crappy Transfer cases and they no longer warranty wheel bearings to 160000km.

None of that will matter if you get new and keep trading it in before warranty's out.

The newer F150s are good trucks as well and id flip a coin.. I like the Fords interiors better with the center shift and captain chairs and now the fords have the same if not better power.

Choose wisely my friend, either way you will be happy. How many km or miles on urs now?
