Default GM question

I (broke college kid) have a room mate that has busted his CV axle in his 2007 GMC Sierra Z71 and I am finding zero write ups on the removal of such an axle online. You guys have always been very helpful with my questions concerning my 04 f150 and I was wondering if anyone could lend me some knowledge on any tricks to the removal of this thing. It looks pretty cut and dry but I dont want to dig into anything too deep with all of my tools being three hours away. Thanks.
