Default getting two cb whips tomorrow... HELP!!!

I love the look of cb whips, and I was at my grandpas today and noticed he had two 4 or 5 foot whips in the rafters of his workshop. i found the cb as well, it's vintage haha. the thing is, i dont need a cb. I hate the look of the factory antenna, is it possible to wire the cb whips as radio antenna? I would mount them on the front left and front right corners of my bed

probably not - CB antennas are not FM/AM antennas. you could make them work, but now you need an expert. there's probably a CB or HAM store or club in your area - google that and check with somebody there; they should be able to help you. at the very least, i think mounting twin antennas may work against each other, and mounting at the side of the body (bed) may cut your range, though this is not such an issue if you're only going to be receiving.
i just put a CB in my truck, and i'm installing a 2M, 70cm, and a 10M radio in it; the above is what i learned from all the research i've been doing in my install.
good luck!

if you got it to work it would probably increase your range, which means you would be picking up two different radio stations on the same channel. and that would just suck haha

yes this is possible. if you go to firestick.com they have a box that converts the signal. you can use your cb antenna as an fm radio antenna because all cb antennas are two way antennas. it does not work the other way around because the fm antenna only receives the signal. if you have anymore questions you can ask. i have read up a ton on cb radios and antennas. also have spent a lot of time in the local cb shop working with the guy.

In most cases, for CB usage, two antennas have to be installed with the correct seperation or you risk reducing your range. If you like the look to two antennas, install both of them but just hook up one to you CB. The other will just be for looks.

Just a suggestion for another option.

Get one of these splitters and it will work.

Amazon Amazon

The factory antennae, on my big truck are wired this way. However, I don't use them for CB, as they don't work well (fiberglass doors, no ground plane, etc..). But they are just fine, for AM/FM.
