Angry Getting confuzzled...

Hi! If anyone out there would mind taking a little read and giving a little advice?

I have two f150's an 85 and an 89 lariat extended cabs, the 85 has a 351 with a holly 2 barrel and the 89 is a 305EFI. The carb on the 85 is not functioning right, when i try to get past 80 it stalls out and i dont know if i didnt set the "kickdown"? lever right beside choke control lever?
Dont know if this makes sense or not but please let me know.

Im going to try to fix the carb on the 85 because the 89 is i think a kidny foundation special. The ignition system is totally fubared. Maby Ill ask about that one later.

Anyways thanks for reading and for any help you might be able to give..

You're trying to get an 85 F150 past 80? The kickdown functions on the transmission, shouldn't have anything to do with stalling out. Check to make sure your fuel pump is up to it.

Thanks for the advice. I will see if i can have it tested. the part I was talking about is a black plastic lever right beside the rod that controls the choke float. when i replaced the choke coil? (little coil of metal on choke housing) I couldnt remember if the lever goes above the rod or below it.. Make any sense?

You need to get a Hanes manual for the truck, it should have an exploded diagram of the area you are referring to...

As for the 89, same thing applies, it may help you fix what ya got broken... It also might help get the Chevy engine out of your Ford truck (305 )

Yup. Unless you have the 4.9L which is 300ci, you have a v8 right?

Yup got a v8 alright, turns out it predates my truck. its a 402, 6.6L. I think they stopped making those in 1980. finding parts for it is becoming fun.

400.

Stopped making them in 1982 when they brought back the 460. The 400s are great engines, they are known for their massive wave of torque. I would love to have one.

Haahahaahahaha.

Whats wrong with the 400 in there? Ghetto motor swap?

I'd give you my 4.9L in trade but I live in California and have to appease the smog *****.
