Question FX4 Questions

The local dealer is offering me a decent deal to get into a 2014 FX4 if I trade my 2012 Lariat in. I'm looking at a fully loaded FX4 and it seems pretty comparable to what I have now. Has anyone made this switch? What are the key differences? Am I crazy for wanting to give up a Lariat?

Also I am brand new to this forum. If this has been discussed before please let me know and sorry for the duplicate post!

Thanks!

If your Lariat is fully loaded, not much difference other than cosmetic and skid plates. Oh, and cool FX4 decals.

I just bought a 14' FX4 and I love it, but I see no reason to trade in a 2 year old Lariat unless you are having significant issues with it. Just my thoughts...

Hey I traded in my 2013 SCAB FX4 for a 2014 SCREW FX4. Smaller cab didn't work for me and went with 3:73 rear.
Plenty of reasons for changing trucks other than mech issues.

the lariat is smoother riding as it has softer shocks and more sound detning in the panels.

The FX4 is just a "sporty" Lariat. Why change for mostly cosmetic reasons?

Thanks everyone. At first I wanted it for the off-road capabilities. But my Lariat has done just fine in light situations. Seems like the consensus is that they are almost identical. That new truck smell can wait!

And the dealer couldn't bring the right deal to the table anyway. So the decision was an easy one.

My FX rides way rougher than my buddy's lariat.

The FX4 has different shocks, skid plates and hill descent control. The last one being the only one that you really can't add later or do way better with aftermarket options.
