Like I said, every brand has their own propaganda.....I used to be a huge K&N fan and wouldn't run anything but.....my problem is being in the mix with all the guys upgrading their cars and truck and seeing trucks come back with issues and seeing the inside of the intake tubes when we tear engines down for more upgrades...I don't go by the stats that the manufacture puts out ever because the supposed 15 horsepower an intake is supposed to make in a lab environment equals about 5 maybe 8 horsepower on the street or in the dirt. If you are a fan of K&N then kudos because you never had the issues I've seen. Im just stating from experience and knowledge that they are junk and I will never run one on my vehicle nor would I ever sell one to someone I knew....

point taken, and i personally like roush and dejon, but k&n is imo a good company with great products and the positive results from the product are of a high percent

to each his own...

What is your problem with AirAid anyway? They have the 7 layer gauze like everyone else with the 8th layer of synthetic cotton to inhibit the breakdown of the real cotton underneath, then they have a very light oil coating, much lighter than even K&N asks for, they also show proof of higher filteration numbers with better flow than all but two of their competitors (the newest AFE filters, and the new AMSOIL filters have higher filteration number). They actually test the stock tube versus one of their tubes and if there is less than 1 hp gain they leave the stock air tube so as to keep noise level down if possible. And referring to their warranty, its not that stupid million mile warranty that doesn't mean anything....they call it a no hassle warranty....if you have an issue, a problem, or just don't like it, they don't ask you any questions, you can return it to the place you purchased it from for a replacement or a refund....I find that more appealing than anything...you know you have a good product when you are willing to put it up against anyone elses product and willing to take it back if someone doesn't like......
