future for regular cabs?
Not sure if I am reading this article correctly, but "drop cab configurations" reads to me that the regular cab could be dropped soon? Anyone hear anything about regular cabs being discontinued? I hope I am wrong here as I only drive regular cabs. Love em!

I'm going with most likely. You haven't been able to buy a regular cab Tacoma for years. Nor a full-size truck with a manual transmission. Even though regular cabs are less common, and less expensive, it costs more for everyone for Ford to offer another configuration.
Henry Ford mastered the technique in his original factory by building everything just alike. Even going so far as to only offer 1 color, black. That kept costs down so more people could buy a car, plus it kept profits up. With the endless options available today it is no wonder trucks cost so much.

Supercabs are really tough to find in any make now. RCSBs that aren’t 101A/2.7 Ecos are quite tough to find, too.
Eventually, we will all have a “taste” for a Lightning, like it or not, as far as an F150 goes.
A point mentioned about Toyota dropping RC Tacomas...Nissan dropped RC Frontiers seemingly forever ago. Seems like it was before the mortgage crisis. Some thought it would put them in a bind for some reason. I mean...it’s not like they made huge money for Nissan.

Let 'em drop the SCab, just might make my 2020 worth more in the long run, along with the 3:73ELD, and the last 5.0 without cylinder deactivation. Who knows. In my area, the only way I could get that truck was to order it.
