4.6 4x4. With a bed cover I've gotten 19 on the highway. My daily drive is about 5 miles. In the cold weather I'm lucky if I get 10 mpg.

Dayum, I feel lucky to have the 5.8! I get 13mpg around town(+or-) and 18mpg on the highway(+or-), and that is without a cap or cover on the bed of the truck. Even hauling my atv to hunting camp I can get 15-16mpg on the highway. And my truck has 144,800 miles on her.

Why is the 4.6 so much different (lower) than the 5.4 mileage? I get around 13-14.5 in town depending on how I drive and I have hit 20 on the highway going to Northern TX.

EDIT- 2WD Scab 5.4

I have 2WD 4.6 and consistently get 13.5 i just put in a k&n filter and am now getting little better than 14. But also i have dual exhaust and like to keep my foot in, I very rarely do highway but have gotten 17 before.

Hey guys, back again, I have the 03 supercrew, 4.6 and am only getting 11mpg, and best is 13 mpg. I have 285/70/17 tires, and apparently they will cost me some miles/gallon. I don't know that for sure???)I have a buddy in town that has the same truck as me, but only 2 differences are he running the 5.4, and has 265/70/17 tires. ( he's getting 20 mpg highway, and 14 town. I'm a little pi$$ed after I searched for a truck with the 4.6) He got 800 km / tank. Best I got was 500km / tank
