fuel issues

Question fuel issues

my truck is surging under a load, at an idle the truck seems to run fine, in cruse control it seems to surge every few minutes, im sure its a fuel problem,

1992 f150, 4x4 351w, dual tanks

can some one please help? i cant find a service manual for a good price...

Check fuel filters first off, then I would check pump pressure from both tanks. After that it would be the injectors if it is in fact a problem with fuel? Maybe start there and see what happens. Good luck.

thanks, will go from there, the truck has 200k miles on it and i have only put about 3k on my self, was told the truck had a tune up before i purchased it, maybe a selling perk.

Cool, I have a '96 with over 210 k on it . Luckily, I haven't had fuel probs yet. If you pinpoint the problem, post it if you can, good info is always helpful, and besides I am curious to see what it might be!

As mentioned above check the fuel pressure. The truck I'm currently driving did exactly the same thing and the fuel pump was the problem.

Unhook the electrical connector on the trans and drive it see if it goes away make Shure u unhook main connector not tr connector

i will get to the truck tonight, ive been pulling a few extra hours at work.

i will post monday morning.

beenmochi, the truck starts just fine with out priming it!

I think he suggested to do it in case there is excessive air in the fuel line.

That could be symptoms of surging, too.
