well either way, I'm still not 100% sure what you're talking about regarding the "cover". All I have ever seen is the two completely different bumper inserts... there are the "plain" ones that are on both sides of the 5.0's ... and then there's the one with the integrated plate mount on it, on the driver's side of the ecoboost models.

if yours has both normal/plain ones on the truck, then either the dealer or someone else swapped out the plate mount insert w/ a normal one. There's no cover to take off to reveal the plate mount. If you bought the truck new, I'd call the dealer and tell 'em that you want the front plate mount for the ecoboost that was supposed to come with your truck.

Just guessing, but perhaps since MS does not require the front plate mount, the dealer puts the normal insert on there for a more balanced look. If you bought the truck used, then whoever owned it before might have made the swap.

anyway, good luck on finding the replacement bumper insert w/ the plate mount.

The plate holder for the 5.0 is mounted center of bumper as seen in the pic below.

It cost about $18 from the dealer, or you can replace the driver side bread loaf for the eco pad with the integral plate mount, dunno how much it costs but it's likely more expensive.

That black cover to the right of your Saints tag is what has to be removed on my 14 XLT 3.5L Ecoboost. That is where front plates for my truck goes.

Brand new..just bought Monday. I want to put a designer plate on it..similar to the Saints plate on the upper photo..but not Saints..

I'm surprised it didn't come with it as it is one piece with that black cover as shown in a post above. Then again my truck didn't come with the tag holder either, I had to purchase it separately and put it on my self.

My truck (5.0 V8) didn't have a plate holder on it either when I bought it new. But I told the salesman that he needed to put one on it....and he did at no charge. And in Arkansas...you don't have a front license plate. But I wanted the plate holder anyway.
