Back to where we started! This shows the Fram Xtended guard to rank highest overall, but common wisdom says anything Fram is, at best, POS. Motorcraft (on a Ford fan forum) is considered best bang for buck, but ranks very low. I'm thinking that I should buy whatever is on sale, roll the extra cash into something important like quality beer, and quit loosing sleep over the filter thing?

I'm in Texas. Where the sweet baby 8 pound 9oz Jesus, looking so innocent laying there in the manger, blessed us with Shiner bock. Who am I to go against Him? He also understands that when money is tight, Lone Star is an acceptable substitute.

We have ran Donaldson filters in all of our cars, trucks, lawnmowers, motorcycles, etc. If it has an engine, odds are we put a donaldson on it. No problems with them and we do oil sampling on all vehicles when we change the oil and we have had nothing come up as a red flag. We can get them pretty cheap through my dads work
