Default Forscan and F150s

I have been reading various threads about using Forscan with a battery charger or tender on the truck to avoid the low battery shut down. I have used Forscan a few years back and never thought to use a charger, I would work fast and sweat a little. I always worried about messing up stuff with a charger on. I have an old 6/12 volt 2 amp charger. Is this a safe amperage to use? Also kinda obvious, positive clamp to positive battery post. Negative clamp to.. Negative battery post or should it go on the fender end of the Negative cable to keep the battery monitor stuff happy? Thanks Tim.

2amp is good.
I would go positive to positive and negative to something else that grounds to the battery. I read somewhere (we know how that goes) that the BMS doesn't see the charge if hooked direct.
