Ford v. Chevy Bed Test Commercial

Ford v. Chevy Bed Test Commercial
Like most of the people on this (2009-2014) board, I drive a 12th gen truck (2013 fx4). While I'm not getting a new truck just yet, I'm already starting to think about what it will be (probably like a bunch of you).
Anyway, I just saw this Silverado commercial where they dropped landscapping blocks into both beds and it tore up the aluminum on the F150. Here's the video: http://www.chevrolet.com/silverado-films.html
I'm a Ford guy first and foremost, but I have to say this commercial really makes me think. I'd love to know if it was a fair test (same number of blocks, same heights, etc.) or if it was somehow slanted for the Chevy. Either way, it makes me wonder about the next truck.
Just thought I would share for others in the same boat as me. If nothing else, it's interesting.

All I know is if I was going to be dropping landscaping blocks in the bed of my truck I would have a professionally done spray in bed liner. It doesn't matter if the bed is made out of steel or aluminum. You're going to damage the bed either way.

Thanks for the sage advice, Internet King. If a double-posted question is so bothersome, why do you bother wasting your time responding?? I apologize I don't have all day to sift through the endless threads, as you apparently do.
Flame on, I guess.

Agreed, but where's the line? I wouldn't expect the tool box to do that kind of damage.

If you haven't noticed, Chevrolet has, for a very long time, used deceptive advertising against it's competition.
Example? The new ad - Chevy has the best *V8* towing capacity. They are still running scared of the V6 EcoBoost - they can't touch it. It implies that Chevy has the best towing capacity.
Ad a few years ago (w/Howie Long) "Chevy was rated the best car by Consumer Digest..." - Consumer Digest is a "pay-for-a-rating" magazine, and is almost a polar opposite in scope from Consumer Reports. But when the public heard on TV "Consumer...", and the public's assumption became Consumer Reports.
While I haven't seen the new ad, I can only assume that they didn't show what happens to a steel truck bed when landscaping. I'll clue you in: it ain't pretty. Best to get a drop in liner. At least it will buffer the impact damage to the bed.
Chevrolet can't come up with anything positive, so they come up with ridiculous ways to make a big deal out of really stupid, non-essential things. Every new Chevy/GM ad that comes out, I point out the "sly" of the ad to my wife, and she asks "don't people see that?"
And if that weren't enough, just WHO could live with those stupid-ugly square wheel wells?

I went test driving with my coworker, every dealership we went to from chevy, gmc, ram and Toyota all had displays to advertise reasoning you should buy their truck over a F150. I understand and get it, but they're all doing what they can to beat the king. It's not working. The interior of those Silverado and Sierra just suck, tundra interior is a copy cat of our 09-14 trucks and Ram still has reliability issues.
