Default This Is A Ford Site......

A couple of years ago I bought my first Ford truck and found a home in the 92-96 forum on another site. The forum had a great bunch of regular guys that were always there to help out if needed and I spent alot of time on the site.
But one thing made me nuts about the site.........
You would open the home page to be presented with a new ad at the top of the page for the "2010 Truck of the Year--Dodge Ram"...even worse are the GM ads
They're everywhere!!!
For God's sake, it's a Ford site.......

After my 94 was totaled, I picked up my 99 and now had to switch forums. I posted on the 97-03 forum on that site, but found it to be a completely different experience.......
...And so now I find myself here at F150forum.com and look forward to talking Ford trucks with other Ford lovers and can do it without looking at Dodge or GM(yes I saw those too) ads.
I don't mind ads, but not ads for those other trucks.........or is it just me???

Hat's off to the owners of this site!!

Apperantly you haven't been here long, you will see ads for Chevy and Dodge on here too. As I am reading your thread I see a Chevy ad above it.

It's just an ad, its no big deal.

I use FireFox with AdBlocker and never see any ads on any site:

theres been lots of other posts on here about this topic, i believe lenn said that the ads appear due to the topic of the page, so now that you are talking about chevy and dodge, their ads will pop up, it also pays the bills, and why does ford need to advertise to us, we already know how great they are

+1 I don't even know what ads are anymore. It's like the internet from 1995 reborn. No flash, no crap.

Doh!
I need to stay away from computer till I've had my fill of coffee...
It now dawns on me that I have adblocker......which would explain much, but I was seeing Ford ads on this site this morning..hmmm. But as someone mentioned, the ads are targeted and the software for that is very clever. Gmail's software reads your emails for this purpose.
Anyway, I guess it's all part of the technologically advanced(??) world we live in.
Well, regardless I'm here now and I don't see any many ads and if they're Ford ads, fine by me.
Firefox does have a ton of great add-ons for its browser...I have a few installed. You can browse them all under the tools drop down menu
Amazing what some people come up with...

Well, I hope I gave everyone a good laugh this morning....
...and now it's time for me to mix a toddy or two while the honey makes dinner.
