Default Ford OEM retracting side steps

It seems there are 2 different retracting Ford
side steps for short bed/long bed? Anyone familiar with this? If so are they interchangeable?

I’m 6 feet, and if I need deep in the bed I stand on the 32-33” tire. Also, I now have a rolling bed cover so that restricts some access close to the cab.

I saw a retracting rear bumper step that comes off the drivers corner, I suppose you use that when the tailgate is down? I have a tailgate step so not sure that would be a gain?

Can anyone give me feedback on usability?
