Ford is "Charging" on

Isn't that kind of how R&D etc of all products by all companies, ever, works? I mean sure, investors account for some things with startup capital and the like but, yeah...welcome to life?

Well, shoot, you guys are coming up with great ideas. But I'm surprised to learn that generators for EV's are not an original idea. Oh well.

Pure EV's will occupy a small of new car sales as time moves on but include hybrid EV and the amount will be substantial. The road ten years ahead will have vehicles with varied drive systems. Regular old gas and diesel will be around forever. The fan of the EV will disagree but the mileage per tank of a plug in hybrid will just keep climbing. This stretches out how long the oil underground will last and provides the clean vehicle that is popular. This will perpetuate higher mpg vehicles. Filling up at the pump when needed is just hard to beat.

So who wants to watch the 19 minute video and tell us there's no practical application?

Ah, but we can all go the dragstrip in a few years to watch the EV's drag. There will be a charge station half way down the quarter mile!
And, look at all the money we are saving on gas, but my electric bill is now $800 per month. Trade off?

What I find amusing with all the naysayers is we had electric cars before we ever had gas engines, only problem was it was so rudimentary being the technology was infantile for lack of a better word that we moved to steam power and then gasoline.
Technology has finally caught up and we're right back where we started all those years ago. Only this time it'll stick around while ICE power will slowly fade away except for specific applications. Museums come to mind LOL.
