Foldable bed extender
Hello all, can anyone help me out here. I am about to buy a bed extender from a buddy of mine for my 2014 raptor. He took it out his brothers truck a couple of years back when he sold it. And now he will be selling it to me for dirt cheap. The problem that I am having is the hardware. Does the extender require anything else to install on the truck? If so what is it? I got pictures of what he will be selling me.

I would like to have any of you guys take a quick shot of ur extender so I can figure out what I can do with this foldable extender I want to buy. Thank you all for reading.

For sure you'll need the bolts that bolt into the side of the truck bed. They hold the extension in as well as act as the pivot point to swing the extender in and out. I can't remember if there are any spacers or washers in there but can check later today.
What model year is the extender coming off? Prior to 2009 the extender may have been slightly different, although it may have just been the bolts.
I bought a used extender and had to get some hardware as well. It looks like that you'll need the bolts. You can see in the picture below that the bolt comes with a "sleeve".
It looks like you may have the sleeve in the hole in the extender. I got one bolt and no sleeves, so I got 2 of the "Bolt & Sleeve" packs you see in the picture. Both sleeves are mounted in my truck, so you can only see the one bolt I didn't need to use.
Do an eBay search for "99286D88" and you'll see you can get the bolt&sleeve for around $10.
The bushings are a different story - they should cost about 2 cents, but they go for about $15 EACH!!!
They're just a 2 cent piece of plastic!!
The bushings go into the side of the bed above and below the bolt&sleeve (which is the pivot for when you flip the extender). The bushings are to hold the locking pin in place.
Do you have a bed liner? I have a drop in bed liner, and when I drilled holes in it for the locking pins to go through, i really didn't need the bushings at all.
If you do want the bushings, do an eBay search for "84286A54" and you'll see them for around $13-$15 for one bushing. However, they sell a packet of 4 bushings and 2 bolts for the 2004-2008 F150 for around $34. The bushings are exactly the same as for the newer model years, so buying that pack will get you 4 bushings a lot cheaper than buying them individually.

Yes I do have a sprayed bed liner so hoping I don't need to spend 30bucks for small plastics.
