flowmaster exhaust
ok so just got my flowmaster force 2 exhaust for my 2010 f150 5.4 flex...the exhaust can be exit dual back straight out or directed one behind each tire on more less stock angle. behind each tire looks great from sides but not as well from behind. would those two extra bends restrict flow and lose potential power?cant decide and installing tomorro. any advise?

really...everyone i talked to recommended flowmasters as did my 3 mechanic buddies. 2 of which chose flowmasters for their own trucks and mustangs, recently, and are happy with tone power and gas mileage increase. what do u recommend?
Chambered mufflers don't do anything for performance, sound only. They are restrictive, and all your buddies are using seat pants dynos. If you want a performance muffler it needs to be straight through, like the Hooker Aerochamber or the Dynomax bullet. Hate to break it to you but there is nothing performance about that exhaust.
Also the mileage and power increase, it's all bull****.
I see you are from Jersey, do what I do and don't take advise from anyone in Jersey.

All aftermarket exhaust give you sound only. people are bias toward flowmaster because it chambered. these guys thinking that a see through muffler is going to give you more power is crapola. the converters has already determined your exhaust flow. if you go to a 3'' exhaust you loose a little down low( less velocity) but gain it back in mid and top. so if you thing your see through muffler is superior. prove it. you might get a big suprise.for your lack of knowledge. so let's get real. all you gain is better sound and lighter pocket books.
As seen in the link Loki gave and countless other dyno tests, there is no "thinking" a straight through design reduces restriction and increases performance. It's a fact. The power band doesn't increase too much going to 3" single over stock so there will be negligible loss in lower rpms. The converters only slightly hinder flow. If they were a really large stopping point, the rest of the system wouldn't matter as much as it does.

So the pipes been on for a week, although i agree it is mainly sound only, there is a slight difference in power and believe it or not, i am getting .5 more mpg with regular driving and temp conditions. very happy with sound, not to loud only when acceleration is it very loud. as for loki, i agree borla is the better exhaust power stand point but the price matches it, plus is very loud not wat i was looking for. as for brad, dont mock an entire state...it make u look stupid. for te rest of reponses, thank you for input. very helpful and informative.
Good for you - being happy w/what you buy/install is the main goal, unless you're bracket racing every weekend. I am right behind you, well, maybe a month or 3 on a Flowmaster system.
