Floor mat tried to kill me
The other day as I'm pulling up to my garage my drivers side floor mat pinned the gas peddle. I almost drove through my (closed) garage door right into the back of my Focus. I had Weather Tech mats, but not the fitted kind as they don't make them for my model truck. The mat would slide sometimes.
So now I'm looking for a mat that doesn't move around. Any suggestions?

Maybe stick some velcro to the underside of the mat and/or trim the rubber where it could potentially make contact with the pedal.

I have WeatherTech digital mats in my truck, I've snagged my shoe or pants on them in the past, they could be just a tad longer. The WeatherTech mats in our RAV4 have a perfect fit, but can't say the same about the set in the F150.

I have the husky and I like them very much no issues last 3 years.

Most mats have a slight cut out for the gas pedal area. I like the Lund Carpet Catch It mats, nicest I've owned.

Good that you didn't crash!
I have Aries 3D and left the factory carpet mat under it but had to move it forward to expose the pegs for the Aries. I floored it on an entrance ramp. I didn't have it quite far enough forward and the pedal got under the edge of the factory mat exposed in the cutout of the Aries mat and when I let off it was still going wide open. Took a bit to realize what was going on and I couldn't fix it from driving position so I turn the ignition off and coasted to the side of the road where I moved the factory mat farther forward to solve the problem.
Fortunately there was very little traffic and no danger off rear ending anyone as I was doing about 90 when I finally turned it off.
It's kind of cool that the power steering still works with the engine off.

I was looking at Fords mats and noticed that they all had retention hook spots. My XL doesn't have a retention hook. That seems to be the problem.

You may want to consider fabricating some brackets with mat retainers to secure (say) WeatherTech floor liners .....
*WeatherTech insert replaced with fabricated F-150 plaque.
- thin strip of aluminum sheeting
- hole drilled in anchor-end to allow seat bolt to pass thru.
- anchor-end slid between seat bracket and floor.
- bent to contour of the floor.
- FoMoCo mat retainer
- part # 1W6Z-76130A83-AA
- bottom tab trimmed-off.
- secured to aluminum bracket with 3M double-sided attachment tape.
- bracket secured with seat bolt.

On my King Ranch OEM rubber mats they have a warning on them to remove your stock carpeted mats before installing the the rubber ones. The reason is so that you can lock them in place using the retainer buttons so they don't slide & jam the gas pedal.
