Default Flags flying from the bed

I've always wanted to fly two flags from the back of my truck bed, but I have not been able to figure out how to mount them.

I want to be able to take the flags in and out and I don't want the mounts to take up bed space because I use it daily. I do want something very stable though, being able to withstand winds of 55 mph or more.

Anyone have any idea or suggestions?

I feel like it would need guide wires of some sort. Standard 3'x5' flag? that'd be a lot of force and drag. The only thing I can think of would be to mount it to some sort of 5th wheel ball. My 97 has a stock one that collapses into the bed, I'd rig something with that. I dont know. mine sucks as far as bed hook points go

3x5, possibly a little bigger.

We have the two hooks in back of the bed. Any apparatus to attach it there? I'm not doing any 5th wheel thing because I need the full bed and nothing sticking up in it.

Here's my redneck flagpole rig. Just used an average fishing rod holder from Bass Pro, and mounted it to the side of the bed. Works great. I fly a 3x5 flag up to 55 mph.

How'd you mount it?

Tailgate up or down when driving?

They don't seem to look drilled in. How are they held there?

Here are mine. I used metal adjustable flag holders and pipe straps at the top of the bed (http://www.homedepot.com/Plumbing-Pl...atalogId=10053) The only thing I had a problem with was that the wall of the bed isn't level so I had to use a 2x4 as a spacer so the flags wouldn't run into the top rail.

I have the same setup as Bigred on mine. i mounted my flags to a 1-1/2 round wood rod that i got from Home Depot. they just slide into the rod holders so i can put them on the truck and remove them with ease.
