First Ford?
Alright folks, first I want to say hi and I look forward to this forum! Now for the dirt..............
Growing up I was a Chevy guy and I had a few Chevy trucks (parents worked for GM so it was all about the discount). I then went to my current truck which is a Dodge. I really like the Dodge and am thinking of another Ram (either 1500 or 2500 Diesel). However, the Ford's do have appeal to me. I know that I will get biased opinions here, since it is a Ford Forum (that is why I joined), but I am looking for honesty. Give me your opinions and sell me on Ford.
Another thing that I am looking into is the Tuscany conversion. I REALLY like those trucks. I noticed that most have the older F-150 grill however, the more sloped hood, which I like. If one did the Tuscany deal to a new F-150, is it possible to get that more streamlined front end (as I dislike the "wall" front end currently used)?
Lastly, along the lines of the Tuscany, I once saw a Coyote conversion. The embroidered paw print in the headrests and the logos on the truck were great. In fact, I would rather get this version than the Tuscany. Does anyone know if that conversion is still available?
I thank you for your insight and I look forward to this forum!

I have owned all of the big three over the years. I will tell you this...The 2010 Lariat 4X4 that I recently bought is the most solid, well built truck I have ever owned. I have had diesels and you are not going to have the same *** with the 5.4 but it is no slouch. Go drive a new F-150 and I think you will be impressed. I know I was.
Punishher7,
Would you recommend the deisel over the 5.4? I live in the West and drive through the mountains almost daily. I do not do any towing currently, but I like the idea of having that reserve power should I need it. Just wondering if it is really worth getting, if I don't need it at the moment.
Did you happen to test drive the 2010 Ram before your purchase? If so, how did it compare?

If you want pulling power, you'll get more from the gasoline engine, everything being equal. The diesel will simply give you more pull-per-gallon of fuel, not necessarily more power. The diesel will be happier slugging along at low rpm on a long, hard haul compared to the gasoline equivalent, so that's something to consider.
