Default Final date for Factory Order?

I'm planning to buy a new F-150 at some point. But I seem to be delaying the purchase for two reasons: my existing pickup hasn't fallen apart yet, and I'm still putting $$$ aside so I won't need a big loan.

I'll do a factory order (again) to get my truck just the way I want it.

So my questions:
1) roughly when will the last date be for taking factory orders for the 2015 model?
2) and then how much of a dead zone before taking orders for the 2016 model year?

With all the downtime for the aluminum changeover this model year, I suspect changes for next year would be minimal.

Anyhow, reasonable guesses on my questions would be appreciated...

If it was me and I wanted definite dates, I would contact your local dealer and ask them. Otherwise you are getting guesses from us.

As far as the '16's, I would think the changeover would be relatively quick and not much time lag.

Good luck with your purchase!

If I'm reading the information correctly, that date has not been determined yet.

OK, that's interesting, especially the arifleet.com link.
Yes, the F-150 model year changeover is TBD right now.
But most of the other Ford models have nearly seamless changeovers, at most a week or two of downtime.
So I think it's nothing much to be concerned about...
