Default Fender Flares

Anyone have bolt on style fender flares on a STOCK 4x4 truck? Debating getting some, mostly to cover some scratches. Got the truck cheap, but it has a few scratches on the rear fenders, the flares would cover them perfectly.

They usually don't look good on non-lifted trucks. But in your case they may look better than scratches?

My thouhgts too.

I found a few pics with a Bing search. It dosent look too bad, but bigger tires would make a world of difference.

I'm one of many that will agree the big flares require some extra rubber to look good. I don't like the bolt on style myself as well. honestly I'd just paint over the scratches. I do like the little stock flares a lot though...

You could bedline the outside arches depending on the year of truck.

beg to differ. although even among "regular" tires, those are particularly pathetic

IMO they look stupid with no lift.

The money you're going to spend will likely be on par of what it will be to have the scratches buffed out or painted over or near, depending on what you get for flares. Plus there's the potential to rust behind them and what not. I wouldn't bother, I'd just fix what I have instead of hiding it.

Got a a few quotes on the scratches, averages $600 to fix. Flares are $300.

Negative offset wheels will help pull off the look but it doesn't usually work with the +44mm offset stock wheels. But there may be some rubbing issues with negative offset wheels and no leveling kit.
