Default F'ed UP!

Well I F'ed up big time today, my Rough Country 6 inch lift was finished today, until I was informed that my 17 inch wheels and tires would not be going back on. The lift was made for 18 inch wheels or larger, 17's hit the tie rod. What a horrendous day I had to try and find a used set of wheels and tires. I was going to run my stock wheels and tires for the winter. I finally found a set 2 hours away from where I live. Keep in mined I had NO intention of spending this money nor had I budgeted for it this week. Not sure if I'm at fault or Rough Country not making a very big effort to let some one know that they have to have 18 inch wheels or larger with there 6 inch lift kit.

Not just the 6" lift, the 4" as well. It's not very prominent on the FAQ of their site but in the instructions that come with the kit, it clearly states the lift was "designed for 18" wheels"

I only remembered that because I got online here in the forum and searched and found others stating exactly what you are because I didn't want to get in a bind as you are experiencing.

In the end it's always "caveat emptor" (buyer beware)
.

Doesn't make it any easier when you hear the "we've all done it" but it's true.

Post some pics... should make you feel a little better looking at your new baby. I know I'd like see some.

Wow, that really has to suck man. I can not even imagine the feeling you must've had in your gut and your wallet when you heard that news.

Hopefully you can sell those 17's and recoup a bit of that money back. Good luck!

*Me feeling so much better about my little 3" lift with 16" wheels*

Man, I'm really sorry to hear that. We've all been there.

Wow....that would be quite a maddening situation if it were me. So is that a problem with the 2011's? I'm only asking because I have a RC 4"lift on my 2007 SCrew and I'm running 17" rims with 35" tires and there is absolutely no rubbing going on anywhere.
